Good Smile Company Hatsune Miku Land of the Eternal ver REVIEW MyFigureCollection.net

Hi everyone, and welcome to my review of the Hatsune Miku Land of the Eternal ver scale!
This figure is one that seems to have a lot of controversy surrounding it, due to the fact GSC decided to push it ahead to April instead of July. A lot of us had to cancel her, and I'm not sure how many people actually were able to buy her, but it's way less than there would have been, had she been released when she was supposed to be. Obviously, I did get her, but it cost me a lot of figures, because she was released so early in the month. D:. I'm not thrilled with them either, but there wasn't a lot I could do, as I couldn't cancel her.

The question is, is she worth it? According to one review so far, yes. Going off that review, I'd definitely agree. Based on mine.. maybe? She definitely has issues, which I'll discuss later in the review.

The first thing we see when we get a figure is the box. In this case, it's nice. Nothing special, but nice. Here's a quick turnaround of the box:

There are actually some extra leaves printed on it that you can't see, as they wouldn't show up in the photos I took. The box is matte, and the leaves are glossy. It is a nice touch.

Now, onto the figure itself...
Here she is in the blister pack:

The blister pack does a good job of protecting her, and the blisters themselves are very hard to open. It's annoying for us, but does make it harder for her to be damaged in transit, which is a plus.

Now, here she is, out of the box. I took a picture of her before I put her pigtails in, as I thought it could make for a cute alternative hairstyle. The holes where her pigtails go in are hidden beneath the buns, so she 100% could be displayed without them if you wanted to.

Also, as you can tell from this picture, she also doesn't need her base to stand up. But it's pretty, so I'm going to use it.

Moving on, here she is up close:

GSC really did a great job with her face. Her expression is spot on compared to the illustration, and it is applied perfectly (if they didn't paint it).

And now, for a quick turnaround of the figure:

Without looking at the details too closely, she is gorgeous. Her pigtails are very dynamic, and do not require support poles, which is a HUGE plus. They are also easy to put in, and shaded very well. I also had no issues putting her umbrella in her arm, which is a plus (you just put the pole through her arm, and then add the top). The umbrella is both painted nicely, and shaded well. Her kimono is painted with pearlescent paint, which is a really nice touch. I was expecting it to be matte, and was thrilled it wasn't. Her face is also beautiful, and matches the original illustration very well. I also felt the detail on her hair accessories is also really nice.
The horns and leaves on her head are also beautiful.

Now, moving on to the details..
Here's an up close picture of her hair accessory. It's delicate looking, and very pretty:

Her top is also absolutely gorgeous. The texture on it is amazing, and I love the metallic paint.

There's also some hidden detail in the back of her head, which is nice. There's apparently a hair accessory in the back, which is on top of this hair knot. It kind of reminds me of the way geisha wigs are tied, which is interesting.

Her base is also beautiful. It does look like she's walking through waterlogged maple leaves, and is a nice touch.

This figure does come with issues, though. I've seen other people's Mikus that are perfect, but mine came with these paint bubbles on the back. I'm not thrilled, at all, as this scale was expensive. It's in the back though, which makes it a bit easier to deal with. But I'd rather it not be there at all. I can't find anything on GSC's policies, but if it wouldn't cost me the shipping price to send her back for a GOOD one, or I wouldn't risk getting a worse one, I'd try to exchange her. I'll see if I can pop these bubbles, but I'm not sure it'll work or help.

At any rate, here's my ratings:

Sculpting: 10/10. I don't have issues with her sculpt, It's absolutely perfect.

Painting: 5/10. I adore all the gold, pearl, and metallic paint, and there are no issues with paint being out of the lines, but I hate the bubbles.

Posing: 9/10. The pose is well executed, and although she's just walking, the figure is still dynamic, as the way her pigtails are sculpted makes it look like there's wind behind her.

Base: 9/10. It's absolutely gorgeous. It really looks like there's water over leaves, and is well executed.

Box: 8/10. It's nice, but nothing super special. I like the glossy leaves, though. I wish it had some metallic lettering, as the figure is full of gold as well as red. It's OK as it is, though.

Enjoyment: 7/10. Those stupid bubbles make me dislike this figure more than I would normally. I can't easily see them, fortunately, as I have her so her kimono is in the back. But they do detract from my enjoyment of this figure quite a bit.

Overall, this is a nice figure, but I can't fully recommend her. She was clearly rushed, which sucks. We shouldn't have to spend this much to get a figure with QC issues. I hope everyone else gets a better Miku than I did. I recommend her, but only if you can get her for a good price.
