The streets of Pottsville were filled with fire trucks and firefighters as the Pottsville Fire Department hosted the 70th Annual Schuylkill County Volunteer Fireman's Convention Parade. The parade was the conclusion of a week's worth of events that included a memorial service, delegates night, training night, and a mug night. This year's event included a lineup of over 200 apparatus, marching units, bands, and floats.  Dick Yuengling was chosen as this year's grand marshal.

A Nevada judge has set bail at $750,000 for former Los Angeles street gang leader charged with orchestrating the 1996 drive-by shooting of Tupac Shakur.
